Multifocal contact lenses are lenses that provide correction for both near vision and far vision.

Multifocal contact lenses may be helpful for people who have trouble seeing things close up (for example, reading small print) and do not want to wear reading glasses or bifocal glasses.

Usually multifocal contact lenses are prescribed for both eyes, so they will keep the three dimensional vision.

There are several different types of lenses. Multifocal contacts come as soft lenses and gas permeable ("hard") lenses.

The selection of type of multifocal contact lens is based on factors such as: the age and eyeglass prescription, the patient occupation, the lighting conditions for reading, the shape of the eyes, the size of the pupils.

People may adjust quickly to multifocal contacts and the multifocal contacts work for many people.

Discuss your trial experiences with us, and then decide whether multifocal contacts are the right choice for your vision needs.

Call today our office and schedule an appointment for a comprehensive vision and ocular health assessment.
